Ryan Chanon is a pragmatic dealmaker and trusted partner to private equity firms, family offices, and strategic buyers, helping them uncover and create M&A opportunities with founders and family-owned businesses across the world.
As Senior Vice President at Genz & Associates, Ryan provides leadership and mentorship to the business development team, contributes to strategic corporate initiatives, owns client relationships and leads engagements driving targeted, proprietary deal sourcing strategies tailored to each client’s investment thesis. Known for his sharp instincts and calm, no-fluff approach, he has built a reputation for earning the trust of business owners by respecting the legacy behind their life’s work, whether built over decades or passed down through generations.
Ryan’s background spans corporate development, strategy, marketing & pricing, and supply chain leadership, giving him a unique ability to understand an owner’s business from multiple perspectives. Before joining Genz, he worked on SHV Energy’s U.S. Corporate Development team, supporting both M&A and strategic initiatives. He previously held commercial and operational roles at BNSF Railway, Halliburton, and Glazer’s.
Based in Austin, Ryan brings a thoughtful and grounded presence to a fast-paced deal environment. Outside of work, he enjoys running, catching live music, and planning his next travel adventure with curiosity and intention.
