About Jim

Jim Hoffman is a Managing Director and a key member of the Genz senior leadership team. Jim has over 30 years of M&A, investment banking, and private equity experience, during which he has completed $7 billion in M&A/private equity transactions across many industry sectors. Jim leads client relationships and all aspects of buy-side M&A engagements spanning acquisition search strategy, industry research, target company identification and evaluation, target company outreach, acquisition opportunity and transaction development, and M&A transaction valuation and structuring.

Throughout his career, Jim has played senior leadership roles at multiple private equity and investment banking firms. Jim was a Partner at Pritzker Group (a middle-market PE firm), a Managing Director at Stockwell Capital (a PE co-investment firm), and the Managing Partner at Magna Capital (an independent middle-market PE firm). In addition, Jim was a Managing Director in the M&A Group at Robert W. Baird and a Vice President in the Investment Banking Group at Credit Suisse First Boston.

Jim holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BBA with concentrations in finance and accounting from the University of Michigan. Jim and his wife grew up in Chicago and recently migrated Southwest to Arizona, where they are avid fans of the heat, outdoor activities, and local cuisine.
